Built in the ghost town of Kennicott, a former mining town approximately 4 mi (6.5 km) from McCarthy, this lodge is a replica of a historic mining building. Twenty-five rooms are available, each decorated with mining artifacts and photos. A long porch on the building offers a dramatic view of the Chugach and Wrangell Mountains. The lodge is a great place to start a hiking expedition in the Alaskan wilderness.
