Matanuska Glacier

The Matanuska Glacier is one of Alaska's oldest glaciers and is as spectacular in sight as it is in age. The glacier, which is over 25 mi (40 km) long and has an elevation of 13,000 ft (3,960 m), is easily seen along the Glenn Highway between Palmer and Anchorage.

Knik Glacier

Located in the Matsu Valley near Palmer, the Knik Glacier's face shows itself at the head of the Knik River, as well as along Lake George. The glacier is approximately 200 ft (61 m) thick and visitors can view it by jet boat or sightseeing flights.
