Palmer Zoos & Aquariums
This farm, located south of Palmer, mainly features reindeer but also offers visitors the opportunity to see moose, elk, bison and blacktail deer. The farm is open daily from May through September when visitors can take tours of the center and feed and pet its animals. Horseback rides are also available.
This center is dedicated to the development and domestication of the musk ox, considered one of the Arctic's oldest living species. The farm is used to support a knitter's co-operative, which supports Alaskan natives living in remote coastal villages. Tourists can visit the center and view and photograph the animals, learn about the project through guided tours, and shop for unique gifts.
